Majel's Swap Report

Well another swap report from me telling you all how very spoiled I was.....

Rebecca was my swap partner and what a great job she did letting me  know her and her family better. There were packages from her, her daughter to my daughter and alittle something from her hubby.

First Rebecca's package....in a beautiful shoe box all wrapped in beautiful precious moments paper(Rebecca's favorite) I found a whole bundle of home made.. by Rebecca.. note cards. One just cuter then the next all different designs they are so beautiful. I found 5 beautiful recipe cards with all the favorites of their family: Chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter brownies, parmesan chicken breasts, tostado soup and hash brown potatoe casserole oh yum yum to all... haven't tried them yet but we will soon....also a Yankee candle car air freshner her favorite flavor French Vanilla,(also mine) and the new Boyds pin for spring its the bear dressed like a butterfly and Rebeccas favorite candy a Twix bar and a White Fudge Covered pretzel .....and best a TY bear "Rosalie" she dressed like a flower....

Okay on to Juleighanne she sent Keriann a box of Chedder cheese goldfish crackers and a bunch of assorted stickers all of Keri's and my favorites...we're still fighting over Winnie the Pooh okay I'll grow up now....this all came in a gift bag with bears and ballons on it and alot of love....and a TY bear (all wrapped so pretty) its the angel "Rafaella" Keri is so thrilled I can't tell you how much she can't believe you WOWsies never forget her ...shes a very lucky little girl...

Now Reese her dear hubby....I got hot wheels racing car  a set of Nascar pencils and a large bag of Resse's peanut butter cups  the minature ones...I'll explain go on..

In an envelope was a tourist map of Rock Port Missouri noting the best places to go .....hope someday I get to see them...

In another envelope the was a five page typed letter from Rebecca where she explained all the enclosed things and told me all about her ,her husband and ofcourse her daughter......I now know where they went to college, how her and hubby met and married, their home and the birth of their daughter and where they both work and about their jobs, about their pet poodle "Spencer" who is seven and how he loves to clean up Juleighanne's dropped Teddy Grahams and Gold Fish crackers all sounded very familiar to me as the same thing happens here too..LOL

Rebecca described all her hobbies such as collecting Boyds, Cherishes Teddies and Precious Moments and Noah's ark... and more..sounds like she has many beautiful things and I felt as though I was there and had gone on a tour of her home shes made the letter so real..

A  moment about her husband Reese well guess its obvious why I got Resses peanut butter cups but the race car and pencils that stumped me.....well its Resse's favorite thing(next to football)... he loves car raceing and the car and pencils had his favorite racers on them I thought it was so clever..

the letter went on to tell me many things about them to much to go into every detail but I  loved every word...and I saved the best for last  ...Rebecca sent me a photo album filled with post cards from her home town and many pictures of her and her family... the photo album really brought the whole package together and what a beautiful family it is....

I know Rebecca  put alot of time and consideration into my swap and I'll never forget it....I enjoyed every inch of it and still look at the pictures everyday and I've read the letter about 10 times now...

Rebecca as always it's very hard to thank your swappie but I think you know how thrilled I was and thank you again for bringing me into your home.... I hope you all enjoyed this as much as I did....with love and hugs Majel   P.S. dear Lord I hope I did'nt forget anything, if I did, forgive me Rebecca .

Mary Wakefield's Swap Report

When I got home from work today, a large box was sitting on the counter.  Oh Boy!  Didn't take long for me to start tearing into it!  There wasn't any "I think I can wait, I think I can wait" for me!    My "swappie" for the
"Getting to Know you" swap was Linda Hawkens!!  I'm still so overwhelmed at her generosity I'm still oohing and aweing!  Everything was wrapped in pretty tissue paper and bags including the cutest Boyds bag!   Linda is a former "secret bear Pal" from my Boyds Forum days several years ago.   I think I was Linda's secret bear pal at the same time Donna Rogers was my secret bear pal!   Unfortunately, Linda & I lost track of each other and I was so happy to see her name pop up at the lounge!!   2 former bear pals are now WOWsie sisters!

First thing that came hopping out of this big box was Emily Babbit the Nurse!  Linda works for a Drs. office!  Popping out right behind her was that cutie Bernaette Debearvoire!  Love that purple hat and scarf!!  She's adorable!  Next opened was the cutest Mary Englebreit Metal watering can which will look great in my garden window just as soon as I
finish eating the red licorice  that was tucked inside!  This
represented Linda's love for gardening, flowers etc.  Oops, almost forgot,
also some Gardner's Eucalyptus Bath Salts!  This will be great for a good
soak in the tub after working in my flower beds all day!  She also gave me
Mary Englebreit's "Spring" book which includes lots of neat arts and crafts for springtime!  As if all these goodies weren't enough... Wait... I'm not nearly finished yet!!!  She loves antiques and collectibles and sent me the cutest "antiques and collectibles" notecards.  I've never seen any cards like these before.  They're really unique!  Just love them!  She told me in her card (I promise I waited until after I opened all the goodies to read it, Linda!) that her favorite scent is lavender and she also gave me some Camille Beckman English lavender soap and hand therapy lotion.  It smells so good!

Since Linda  lives in a Victorian house in Michigan, she included the
prettiest wooden victorian house!!  Like I said... I'm still "oohing and
aweing" here!  I promise... I'm almost finished.. but not quite!  She loves
chocolate and I do too!  A cute tin of Hershey's Hugs was opened next!  Yum! I walked in the kitchen a few minutes ago, and Ken was cutting the celophane off !  He said  "I just want to see what a hershey's hug looks like!"  Ya.. right.... he loves chocolate too~!  Speaking of candy... she also sent some "after dinner" lollipops in the yummy flavers of chocolate, Amaretto, and coffee liqueur!  Can't wait to try those!   I  also found some yummy carmel sticks tucked inside a bag!   A box of  all season scone mix and some Home & Hearth assorted teas just about complete all the goodies, but tucked inside a small bag were 2 pretty magnets with pictures of the Howell Michigan Courthouse and the Depot Museum!   What beautiful old buildings!  Linda lives in Howell, and from the pictures on these magnets, must have some beautiful historical buildings!   Last, but not least.. a package of Camille Sachet, which I immediately put in my dresser drawer.  We just got a new bedroom suite several weeks ago, and everything I take out of the drawers smells like wood!  The Camille Sachet should be just the cure for that!

Gosh!  I hope I haven't forgotten anything!!!    Linda, thank you from the
bottom of my heart for all these wonderful gifts which tell me all about
you!  It's so wonderful that a friend I lost track of is now a WOWsie
sister!! I just can't thank you enough for all these delightful goodies!!
This has been a truly special swap!!!  Sending BIG Wowsie hugs your way!!!

Sherie's Swap Report

Sherie's Swap was from Muffy, AKA Maryliz!  She sent me the most wonderful bear made by Russ that is designed by Judy Senk, who she has known for many years.  It was even signed by Judy Senk for me.  She sent me the cutest two handled basket, and filled with the most interesting assortment of items!  A little red/white and blue birdhouse ornament.  A carved wooden bear angel.  A package of cosmos seeds to plant.  Some Wowsie soul food-Hershey nuggets with almonds and heath bar in them.  Boyds "Flip Hopsey" bunny ornament-too cute!  Some Michigan dried cherries for cereal or muffins.  A cellophane package shaped like a carrot with tangerine jelly beans in it.  A personal journal book with a bear on the cover.  She was so sweet and even sent Cliff something-Britt family pure maple syrup from Michigan.  Muffy-you out did yourself-I love it all so much.  Thank you again!

Sharon's Swap Report

I hardly know where to begin...Majel spoiled me big time!   That big box
was filled!   The first thing I saw...was this sweet basket...filled with
my own Guardian Angel, three packages of stickers, wildflower mix, and a kitty book mark.
Then I found the most beautiful antique teacup and saucer with a tea
bag...the teacup and saucer belonged to a family member...and Majel sent this to me..I am so moved...thank you, Majel!    And I have just begun!
In this wonderful box, I found....a package of Easter egg dyes, (just
the kind my grandchildren use!);  a darling old fashioned summer chair
with Buffie Bunnyhop, a package of orange jelly beans and darling little
Lana Hoppennibble.  Candies included all the Mauro family
favorites...Peeps, Cadbury Caramel eggs, M&M's.
And doggie treats for the Grand-dogs!  Two cute little bunny ornaments
and a cute chick!
My own Easter pen for my office desk!  A very cute teddy bear tin
candle...apple scent,  and a collection of NY state information and a
great Long Island map...plus postcards and family pictures all in a nice
album...I really feel that I know Majel so well now.  Majel, I am so
enjoying this great swap package...
I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Glennis' Swap Report

What a sneaky Swappie I had this time around! The box was addressed to me both ways...no clues there. I wonder what she had to pay to keep the postal service from putting on a postmark as well.  There were NO ways I could figure out who sent my gift! I finally broke down and opened the tape so I could try to find some clues! A-ha! A sweet letter was peeking from beneath a purple cellophane package! I emailed Sherron and waited for her to show up in chat! As soon as she got there, I got DaBoot! How unfair!  We finally made connections and....

The letter told me lots of things about Sherron and her family. I feel like I'd know her anywhere now!

Sherron had mentioned once that she makes "cinnamon rolls" for special occasions, as she loves to bake.  Ladies, they are HUGE! They fill a 1 gallon zip lock bag! And tasty? Oh my! You won't like yours, so just send it to me! LOL!

Inside the purple cellophane was a beautiful white split wood Easter basket, hand painted with Easter designs. Sitting in the basket was Key Lime Thumpster! Sherron, you shouldn't have! I already had Lana Hoppenibble, so the two are curled up together now! They are so sweet! Beneath Key Lime, sitting in the blue grass was an assortment of chocolates in Spring pastel colors! Also in the basket is a T-shirt from the Pittsburgh Penguins which tells me where Sherron lives! Hiding in the basket was a bottle of purple nail polish! "Iris" is the name of the shade. Anyone going to Gettysburg needs one of these, but I'm wearing mine to the Pouters Party!  Two Yankee votive candles round out this gift basket. One is French Vanilla and the other is Chocolate Truffle!

Thank you so much Sherron! I love my gifts!!

Michelle H.'s Swap Report

Being this was my first Swap I didn't have a clue what to expect and thought it would be a great way for me to get to know one of
my wowsie sisters!

Nancy Scott sent the most precious box ever and everything inside it told me so much about her. First I opened a card she sent. The card is so nice I intend on framing it. It was the Easter bunny one that our very own Joy
makes. Too cute.  She sent me B.A. Blackbelt since her and Jeremy are in Tae Kwon Do! And best of all she's a wrestling fan too just like me.  I found some yummies in the box as well, some Starburst Jelly Beans and a peanut butter egg made locally. The jelly beans were so yummy but the egg was to die for! LOL. Since Nancy was a Creative Memories consultant and she loves scrapbooking she sent all kinds of stickers, pen, page covers, and a scrapbook for me to get started with. This is going to be a really fun project for me to work on. The scrapbook stickers were assorted from gift packages, cats, the beach, celebration, flowers, and many more.  I've enjoyed the map and postcards she sent on Williamsport. The postcards were of  The Little League Stadium, Millionaires Row, and a Riverboat called Hiawatha. The area looks gorgeous, she's a lucky girl to live there! She lives just 2 blocks from the L.L. Stadium. She jump started my Spring with some Wildflower
seeds that she loves. This mix will be real nice in my front flower bed. Also to get me in the Spring mood she sent 3 Fresh Lilac Yankee candles. We both love the lilac scent.
Thank you very much Nancy, this have been a fun swap
and we've got so much in common. I absolutely loved everything!

Eva's Swap Report

My swappy this time is Pris!!! And I'll tell you right now I love everything she sent me.

My MOST favorite thing is the letter Pris enclosed telling me about her and her family. Pris, Thank you so much for this letter.  I loved reading it and learning more about you. It makes me more determined than ever to meet my WOWsie sisters someday! I found out that Pris is one busy lady!!!  Attached to the letter was a pretty heart-shaped,  To My Special Friend, pin .

It is just perfect for Easter!

I then started digging into my package.  Pris gave me permission to open before chat!! Which was good for me cuz it is so hard to wait! Everything was wrapped up pretty in green tissue with white gossamer ribbon.

I got some yummy Bath & Body Cool Citrus Basil lotion and a bar of Cotton Blossom cleansing bar!! Man I love this stuff!! And I love that store!

Next was a packet of 12 postcards from Dayspring.  They all have uplifting messages on them.

Next is a book called... Wisdom For A Women Heart. It is wonderful Pris!

Next is a pocket calender...which is coming in very handy already! Hopefully it will make me organized!! Well, I can hope!!

Stop laughing girls!!!!

Next is a beautiful fridge magnet of a Thomas Kinkade print.  I love magnets and I love Thomas Kinkade. I put it up on my fridge in the WOWsie section!

Thank you Pris so much for this package. It is wonderful and I love everything.

Joy's Swap Report

It all started three weeks ago ...(it is now Easter).  I went out to the mail box at the road as always and there was one of those post office (you have a package, cards) in there.  Yipppppeeeee I thought, it has to be my swappy gift!! Well, got to the post office in the evening (ours is in a drug store so they stay open) just doesn't go or come till the next day.  There it was, a box from our EVA!!! Oh what fun this will be ... and I had a real strong feeling that it was her for some reason.   Hmmmm, that may be because she phoned me the Friday before it came to let me know it was on it's way but not to let on WHO she was.  We had a great conversation even though I had no clue as to who I was talking to.  LOL!  Well, I started to think of things we spoke of, ... time of day, what the weather was doing, she was off to work ... etc.
I really had a hunch it was EVA and very glad to have it turn out that way.  Oh yeah ... when I was talking to her she said there were two packages ... but alas on the day I picked it up there was only one (which was enough by the way girl).  Anyway the next one didn't come until 2 weeks after the first, I believe it was last Wednesday the 11th.  We were both getting worried. Post office was keeping an eye out for it but to no avail.  It was frustrating to say the least.  I figure it got stuck in customs for awhile (for no reason of course) as there were no drugs in it BUT then again, to some of us chocolate IS a drug!! ROFLOL!  Did you put enough in there Eva??? Oh my gosh ... there was enough to feed at least 5 WOWsies in there.  Okay so now you know there was chocolate ... Mars bars, Hershey kisses, Peanut Butter Cups, Cadbury Caramel Eggs, Cadbury mini eggs ... and no I still have NOT finished them all.  Eva's explanation for putting it in my parcel was so SHE wouldn't eat it all ..... thanks E ... snicker ...(nope no Snickers)! Now we definitely know what Eva likes to eat, right???
By the way all this candy was hiding amongst green Easter grass again surrounded by the awesome contents of these boxes.  First I opened it after I seemed to have no time to get to chat but I phoned Eva and let her know it arrived.  We had a delightful conversation once I knew who I was talking to so really it was like opening in chat except you all weren't there to share.  Sorry :o(
There was a really nice letter explaining the contents.  You are such a sweetie Eva.  I chuckled out loud at the comment, and I quote "I was just going to send you Prozac, Pepsi and Chocolate which would describe me pretty well!"   Hey Eva ... me too!! Would have suited me just fine girl!
Eva is very active in her community so she sent me a T-Shirt with the Leamington Community Center silk-screened on it.  Awesome old church and buildings where Eva is the caretaker of as one of her duties as a Town Council person.  I am sure you do a wonderful job too. Oh and it is also the church that her daughter Darci is getting married to Sam in.  Then a delicious candle called "All Throughout the Year" ... mmmmm smells like cinnamon, and the kitchen when my mom baked.  .... that made me go light it while I am writing this. Inside the shirt which was rather heavy ... and I am about to find out why, as she used it to wrap the lovely Wind Chimes in.  The theme is gardening with a fence, birds, and a bee hive at the top because Utah is the Bee Hive State and she loves gardening.  It has a nice chime to it and is now hanging outside my front door where everyone can listen. We have an awful lot in common Eva.  That's what was in the first box... like it wasn't enough.  I got so spoiled though and forgive me as I realize this is turning into a book.
Anyway the next box didn't come until 2 weeks after the first as I mentioned.
This time the package was IN the mail box so YIPPPPEEEE again.
In the second box was more Easter grass, more chocolate, a little Easter bag with some of her favorite Mary Kay products in it.  She sells it too.  Eva said that because we ride the motorcycle she thought I could use this and she is so right.  Two small jars of Lip Mask and Lip Balm for when your lips are getting dry and sore.  Just like a mask for your face.  What a nice idea and I am touched that you thought of that sweetie.  I love it!
Last but certainly not least was the Boyd's Easter Treasure box which Eva collects and so do I.  It is adorable Eva ... sooo cute.  Thank you so much as we didn't get the Easter extras at my store this year.  I feel really blessed to have another WOWsie sister with so much heart.  I was so spoiled ... and am now 5 lb. heavier ;O) ... LOL ... I loved it all Eva, just tickled with all the things about you.  Your family sounds terrific and of great support to you. How could they not love a WOWsie eh?
This WOWsie thanks you from the bottom of my heart.  I was really proud to have you as my swappy this time around.  I think we have the neatest way of Getting to Know You ever! I got Double WOWsied!
Beary BIG BEAR HUGS, Wowsie Joy

Rebecca's Swap Report

I too received a sneaky swap box.  The return address
was mine!  I did have a New Mexico postmark but didn't
have a clue who it was from.  I opened the box to find
a load of wonderful packages and decided to wait to
open the card until the end.  Of course in so doing I
made a number of wrong assumptions about the items
Debi included but was fun!

The first things I saw upon opening were a bag of
peanuts and peeps.  Okay I am thinking that she likes
these things and included them.  Wrong!  The peanuts
are grown in the area.  The peeps she thought were a
symbol of WoWsies!  Next I found an adorable bag chuck
full of wonderful items and tied with Hopsey bunny!
Inside were other things from her area including:  a
jar of salsa made at a local place: a hand crafted
ceramic magnet; peppermint candies; a jumbo peanut
patty; cinnamon suckers; and a New Mexico postcard.
Debi also enclosed items to respresent her and her
family which included: a puzzle book ( she and the
boys use them in the car); a chocolate bunny (she says
every gift needs chocolate!  I like the way she
thinks!); a cute teapot and cup pin set (to represent
Webspresso); a mini candle in a tin decorated with
birdhouses and hearts ( because she decorates with
these); a minature watering pail with sunflowers on it
(again because she decorates with them); a keychain
with a baseball ( because she LOVES baseball); and the
cutest little Pooh flower magnet ( because we both
like Pooh!).  But wait mustn't forget the other Boyd's
items which included:  a Celeste the angel note pad;
stickers; and a Bailey the cheerleader pin!  Was I
spoiled or what! !

Also in the box was a present for Juleighanne.  She
loved opening it to find a Hopper beanie baby.  How
sweet of you to remember her also!

Then I opened the wonderful letter from Debi.  First I
discovered one of Joy's wonderful cards which I have
shown to everyone.  The letter was great and explained
all the items she had included.

Thank you so much Debi for all the wonderful gifts and
for sharing yourself and your family with me.  I think
this has been the most fun swap I have done so far!
You have been truly wonderful to me and my family and
we all send our heartfelt thanks!

it!!!  (NOT).  Second of all, for those that know me, waiting to open in
chat was quite a feat for me!!!!
I opened the box and first pulled out a letter from Joyce, which I TRIED
to read but everyone in chat PRODDED me to open the gifts!!  hahaha
The first gift I pulled out said..open last!!  So I reached in and started

Rosemary's Swap Report

I can't believe I really waited until chat to open my swap
package....When I did it was full of those white plastic Grocery bags
so had to ditch those first...There on the bottom of the box were all
these packages wrapped in this pretty pink paper......So pretty I really
didn't want to open them.........NOT...........

I certainly have to say I was royally spoiled by Glennis,  the first
thing I opened was a note pad in the shape of a tea cup and it had FAITH
written on it....a perfect way to start off a package from  a wowsie
sister...Forgot to mention that each package had a wee not written on it telling why that was in my box...  I got chocolate and honey from California. Peeps, one of the Wowsie candies... A Boyd's Pin and the prettiest  mint green sweater for a bear with a cute bunny on it...

Hot pads and a Martha Stewart "Living"
Magazine, think Glennis  is a wanna be Martha Stewart......some great
ideas in there and also a recipe for marshmallow peeps.. LOL

Candles and a pretty candle holder,
post cards from California and  some stickers also address labels and
cards and stamps for the Card Meister (that's Me).
Last but not least was a book on Bear poems and stories  and a book mark.
Loved everything and  want to say thanks to Glennis for being so special
in my life and  being a Wowsie sister...(A young one young enough to be
my daughter).

Priscilla's Swap Report

I first need to apologize to Sharon for my swap report being so late, she did a wonderful job with my swap package, which I received several weeks ago.  I told her so in a telephone conversation we had about my receiving her Swap package and some Gettysburg plans.

I know already that Sharon loves lighthouses and she sent me a wonderful lighthouse card a week or so before I received my swap package. Beautiful card and very thoughtful. The package was just great and the contents definitely were things I knew were special to Sharon also, just as the lighthouse on the card. Sharon and I both love candles and she sent me a special lilac candle that she said in her card was a "Mackinaw Island" thing. I’ve been burning it sparingly in my kitchen and it smells heavenly. She sent me a lovely clear bar of soap for some pampering that had a bunny inside and I’ve certainly been doing some of that. A special treat I’m saving for Ken and me for a special occasion  is a box (lilac also) containing a Lemon Parfait Smoothie Mix you make in the blender – yummy! Maybe our first night in the pool we will celebrate with it. Last, but not least she sent me the adorable little Lilith Angel Ewe, also with a lilac ribbon around her neck. She is tooo cute. I love these little plush ornies because they are so great to hang on a cabinet knob. She is precious Sharon, I love her and everything you sent. You are special and I thank you again for the lovely swap package.

Jeanie's Swap Report

My swap partner was Sherie, our Southern Belle! Every package in the box was wrapped in pretty purple tissue paper for a true WOWsie theme! This included a package of purple Peeps and two purple Yankee candles in the wonderful Fresh Lilac fragrance. Sherie sent a package of "Life is Sweet" Boyds paper that I just love. It is blue background with bees & sunflowers. I also received a package of Boyds stickers that coordinates nicely. These are items that aren't available to me locally so they are very much appreciated! I got a darling picture frame with two cute bears holding the frame. It is so cute. I knew right away where it would be placed! The pattern on the ribbon, as well as the bear's bows, match my Caffienita  Coffee SF Music box. They are so charming together on my frig top. There was a Charleston Chew that is very yummy and fun since it came from Charleston! Sherie sent a sweet, sweet little Boyds bunny named Tina Marie Hopgood! I hadn't treated myself to an Easter Bunny so this was very nice to get! Another sweet gift was the "Forever Friends" plaque on an easel with two little bears. Sherie is certainly a "forever friend"! It included a hug with a Teddy Bear Hug key chain. Very cute! Have you seen the Quarry Critters? Sherie sent a sitting bear in a gray stone. It is so nice. I really love it! I got a neat booklet  with the story of historic Magnolia Plantation & it's Gardens. I have read it & would love to visit this awesome place. The history of it is so interesting & the beauty. I also received a Digital Scenic Memories of Charleston. Have it downloaded as my screensaver right now. Would just love to visit this gorgeous place. Last but not least was a Victorian picture signed by the artist, Bonnie Holden. It is lovely and depicts "Rainbow Row" in historic Charleston, which is also on the screensaver. Sherie tells me that Bonnie has her studio a few blocks away from her office at the University. The back of the picture tells a little bit about it, the era, and the artist. What a treat it was to get to see some of the wonderful charm of Charleston through your gifts!

Have to say that one of the best treats was that Sherie called me & we had a nice "live" chat!

Thank you so much Sherie for a wonderful swap!

Hugs ~ Jeanie

Dottie's Swap Report

Michele H "Chelle" was my Swap Partner and what a great time I had
'getting to know her'! I opened my box in Chat and was delighted that
Michele H. was present.

Chelle wrote that she loves to snack and enclosed two of her favorite
recipes, Berry Lemonade (which I used for a reception last week) and
Cherry S'mores, which sounds a little like Black Forest cake, yummie!

Tucked in the packing was a packet of the loveliest Note Paper. It is
a dainty Victorian style, Chelle's favorite. She has been buying
this type for years.

Her kitchen is decorated in a Gingerbread theme and Gingerbread candles represents her love of candles and this wonderful aroma. What a unique idea. The lovely sound of Wind Chimes moving in the breeze is a favorite and she sent me a darling hanging chime with a 'Bee Hive' One of my favorite themes. It is hanging on my patio and is clearly heard as I type this report.

I found the cutest rustic Welcome sign. Michele said she has been
painting these for two years and enjoys the craft. My sign is green (perfect for my kitchen). It has a hanging red heart and decorated with spools and gingham bows. It is now hanging in a special spot in my kitchen. Chelle, you are very talented.

She enjoys Chinese food and has learned to cook Cantonese. Enclosed was a Chinese Cookbook written by Lee Ann Chin. I will certainly enjoy trying these recipes as Chinese is a favorite in my house also. The wok is used several times a week but now I can try cooking from scratch. My stand-by has been Create a Meal but I do make a pretty good Fried Rice of my own creation.

Being a Cat Lover, Tinkerbell is her baby, she sent a cat puzzle which I
shall save for a rainy day. Momma McHare and Baby Hopkins pin peeked out and what a cute pin to wear for Easter.

Michele lives in Angel Fire, New Mexico, a gorgeous place! She enclosed
some wonderful brochures. There were two Visitors Guides, a Trail map, Ski Country magazine, and 8 pamphlets. So much wonderful information. Makes you want to jump in the car and head for that beautiful country. I don't ski, use to sit in the lodges and drink hot chocolate waiting for everybody, but it never bothered me. I love the mountains and the ski lodge atmosphere.

Chelle, thanks so very much for the wonderful gifts. I love them all. It
is almost like reading your journal. Hey, let's all head for Angel Fire!    DOTTIE

Carol's "Sneaky" Swap Report

I'm not sure that Carol knows even now that we were all in on this!  This was planned to surprise her because as she draws out names she can never NOT know who has her! Part of the fun IS the surprise!
Surprise Carol!

My first swap partner was suppose to be Eva but her and Rosemary did a
sneaky on me. They swapped partners on me. So Rosemary became my new partner. She was so sweet. Rosemary sent me things that I like. Here is a list of what she sent.

Magnolia Fragrant Guest Soaps
Bunny salt and pepper shakers
votive candleholder (unfortunately it broke in shipping)
wild raspberry refresher spray and body lotion
Easter egg filled with M&M's
porcelain Easter bunny basket with alot of candy in it
sanddollar notecards
Mulberry votive candles (my favorite)
a beautiful wood jewelry box
Petunia Fallsbeary (she most have known that I didn't have her)
purple marble egg

The last two things she sent let me in on what her and Eva had done.
One was a box filled with sand, shells and on one of the shells is a plate
that says Panama City Beach. I know that Eva doesn't live in Florida so I
knew something was up. The last item was a puzzle I had to put together.
Once I did it told me what they had done.

Thanks goes to both Rosemary and Eva. I know who I have to watch out for LOL

Annette's Swap Report

My swappy pal this time was Dottie.  I received an awesome package.  I loved everything.  Thank you Dottie.

Where should I begin...well the box was very heavy?  I didn't think I could
wait till chat to open, but I made it.  You will not believe the wonderful
goodies I received. Everything was wrapped beautifully.  At first I spotted
the Hershey kisses and cocoa. I love chocolate....could eat it all day.
Dottie loves chocolate too.  So glad I am not alone with my addiction.
Next I saw a box that said Just Plain Country. It had the cutest cowboy boot in it to represent all those wonderful cowboys in Texas. :)  I love it.
I learned that Dottie has a Bee collection of plush and resin. Well, one of
my gifts was a yellow T-shirt that says "Bee's Can't Make Honey and Sting at the Same Time." Tooo cute.  I wore it today to show my friends.

Because Dottie loves to garden she sent the cutest wheelbarrow notepad
holder.  It has gardening tools on the top. I also got some Texas Bluebonnet seeds.  I will definitely plant them.  I may need to email Dottie for some gardening tips.  To represent Texas she sent a Texas Bluebonnet mug, notepad and magnet.  Also a postcard with a recipe for Cowboy cookies.  Then I found Green Chile Dip....I can't wait to try it.  We love spicy stuff here.

I continued looking thru the box and found a Yankee mulberry candle.  Smells wonderful. Also found more chocolate..... and some adorable magnets. Did you make those Dottie?  I loved the quotes on them.
Oh wait I can't forget the Boyd's items. She included Flutter Flowerflit (she was on my wish list) and the cutest Boyd's stationary. I really needed the stationery.

Thank you Dottie for all the glorious goodies.  I have enjoyed getting to
know you.  You are a very special lady....WOWsie Hugs!

Oh but wait... guess what came the next day?  You got it....another package from Dottie.  This time it was for my girls.  Kristen was excited to see mail with her name on it.  She couldn't wait to open it.  She sends her thanks for the Barbie paperdolls and the beanie.  She has played with the paperdolls everyday.  They were a big hit.  Allison loved her musical books and beanie too.  She sends baby hugs your way.

Thank you Dottie for your thoughtfulness.  You have made three girls very
happy.  HUGS!

Carol's OTHER Swap Report

My second swap partner was  Erika. Yes I did say second. Carol goofed and forgot to add Erika to her list. I am trying to get better at keeping track of the names. So I am soooo sorry to you Erika for not having you on my list. I also have to say how wonderful she was to me as was my other
partner, Rosemary.

So what did she send, you ask. Here is what I received from Erika.
First thing I noticed was how wonderful the box smelled from the
opening. Then I noticed the filler, it is purple. Once I lifted that out I

Joyce's Swap Report

My swap partner was Mary Wakefield and what a WOWSIE swap package she sent.  Mary sent me a detailed three page letter (decorated with adorable stickers) telling me about herself, family, Noah and of course the wonderful state of Georgia.
Before I read the letter I must confess I ate all the Peeps she sent me for
Breakfast followed by the M&Ms for my mid morning snack.  I could not break the Wowsie candy tradition!
In keeping with Wowsie traditions I put the floral collection pin onto my bathrobe as I was eating the Peeps! LOL!

Mary loves candles and sent me two Island Mango "Yankee" (was that a pun for me?) candles.  They smell like I should be on an island relaxing.  The colorful glass votive holder is beautiful with hand painted flowers &
butterflies and bees. Mary is a coffee drinker and loves latte and included a friendship mug  with white chocolate latte for me to enjoy.  Yummy!
Included are some adorable Mary's Bears stickers from Hallmark.  Those tiny bears can put a smile on anyone's mail even dreaded bills!

Postcards showed Pemberton House in Columbus where Coca Cola was invented and first bottled.  I just love Coke and this bought back memories of going to the Coke Museum in Atlanta with every person who ever visited us in Atlanta.  If you go a word to the wise...don't drink before you go and bring an acid stomach tablet.  Too much of a good thing can really make you fizzy!  Another postcard showed the new River Walk in Columbus...very beautiful.  Another card is of Fort Benning where husband Ben retired from.  One of the postcards has a wonderful recipe for Fried Green Tomatoes which I will try.

Mary collects birdhouses and sent an adorable one (this is when I should have a digital and a scanner). It is just too cute for words.  Mary loves birds. A country print bear pot holder was also enclosed to represent Mary's love of cooking for her family.

Last but not least is a small book Friends make the Difference with little
friendship quotes.  Here is one to share "Friends have all things in
common"...Plato.  and Mary and I have lots in common.
Thanks Mary for bringing a smile to my face you did a G R E A T job!

Doris' Swap Report

Wowsies, you've heard what they say about "pay backs", right???   Well, I'm here to tell you it isn't always so bad....  You see, Carol got me, and got me good!  I've been teasing her for a long time about how "she works in men's underwear".  (Well, she DOES!  It's the truth!  Just ask her what she does at her job at Walmart.  She's in the men's underwear department!)  Some how, some way, Carol had my name for the "Getting to Know You Swap" (I suspect THAT WASN'T just a random pick!!!!) and she decided it was time to pay me back BIG TIME for picking on her.
BIG TIME, as in a pair of size 60 men's boxer shorts, custom decorated,
front and back, including bears, writing and ribbons.  At least that's what
it looks like, cause she included a picture but, didn't actually put them in
my swap package.  She's being a little devil and bringing them to Gettysburg and going to have everyone sign them before she presents them to me in person!

What WAS inside my box was a wonderful assortment of items along with a letter that told me a lot about Carol and the things she most enjoys.  Right on top were two lovely light purple silk roses - her favorite flower in her favorite color.  Then there were post cards from her area of Southern
Mississippi as well as a darling dachshund magnet, a keepsake card about my name, and a hilarious calendar-"Maxine's Guide to Easy Yet Crabby Living". Those were tucked inside a pink basket that represents Carol's enjoyment of having picnics.  Also in the basket were some Reese's Peanut Butter Easter Eggs because she says she's a chocoholic, and a lamb Pez dispenser (purple, of course).  She sent me the most adorable Hallmark Ornament of a little bunny holding a great big carrot and some stickers, to represent her love of Easter and the decorations of the season.  Next there was a cute little brown bear wearing a purple chenille romper that I now have hanging from a shelf by my computer.  A pewter angel visor clip for my car that says "Never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly" told me that Carol believes in angels.  She also sent me a darling wind chime, with a resin top with bears on it.  It sounds so cheerful singing in the breeze on my porch!  A delightful fragrance had been filling the air and that turned out to be coming from two lavender votive candles and not from the surprise hiding down in the bottom of the picnic basket - Oda Parfume, the new skunk from the Boyds spring line!  Oda is the cutest little stinker I've ever seen! (I'm not an expert and couldn't find any hints when I turned her over to check, but I think she's a girl.)  Anyway, "she" has the funniest black wired tail with a stripe of long fluffy white plush and I especially love her accessory - a metal snap clothespin on a ribbon around her neck!  I also loved the beautiful card about friendship that was included in my package and I was touched by the lovely sentiment from Carol who is very special to me, too.

Thank you Carol, for a wonderful and fun-filled swap and I'm looking forward to my WOWsie "drawers" - at least I think I am!  *LOL*  Did you really have to get them that BIG?   Somehow I can't help but think they will be a hit at the reunion, and there will probably be a few pictures shared so that you can all see just how funny Doris looks "in men's underwear"!

Michelle S.'s Swap Report

I want to send a BEARY BIG thank you to my swap partner, Joanie from NY.  Words cannot begin to describe how thrilled I was when I opened each package contained in the box.  The box itself was filled with Easter grass, confetti and potpourri and each package was wrapped up in different kind of paper or cellophane!  So without further ado...........

The very first item out of the box was a miniature bird house on a piece of wire.  She says her house is decorated with birdhouses and since she saw that I like them too she thought she would add one to my collection!!  It's a beautiful blue with a rose on one side and lady bug on the other!  The next package had a map of Long Island, Long Island and New York post cards and a Long Island "survival" kit that included shells to remind me of the beach, sponge to "soak" up the sun, mini sunglasses so I can scope out the opposite sex without being noticed, sand paper to remember what the sand between my toes feels like and a mini hat to give me some much needed shade!  Its just too cute!  Oh my and one of the post cards had a LIGHTHOUSE on it!!!  I received two packages of Boyds post-its. I can always use more of those!  A mini Marvin the Martian notebook, how appropriate!  She says her stepsons like Taz and Marvin.  I kinda like Marvin too, lol!  A Home Sweet Home car jar.  She told me she just put one of them in her new car, a plum color PT Cruiser!  Hmmmmm....... wonder where my PT Cruiser is, rofl!  She included a gift from her birds (she has 11).  Yellow peeps, what else!!  A snack package the contained Russell Stover pecan delights, her fav candy, Reeses peanut butter eggs (her hubby likes anything peanut butter) and 2 fortune cookies (they like to eat Chinese).  I got the Ty bear, Fern, because its her fav color and it has a big smile on its face.  Her hubby calls her Smiley and there were some bear stickers in with Fern!  There was a package from her four cats that included cat stickers and the cutest pewter cat pins! The little note on this had two cats on it and she had named them Buddy and Bitsy after my cats!  The next package had a Russ Berrie rabbit in a cute yellow pinafore with a butterfly on the front.  In the pocket of the pinafore was a bunny wuzzie and in her little tote bag was a bunny pez dispenser!  She states her hubby also calls her Hunny Bunny.

Oh my, there was even more!

The next was a box that contained a packet of wild flower seeds because she loves to garden and for something to relax with at the end of a hard day there was an awesome bird bath tart burner (it has gardening stuff, bunnies and butterflies on it!) and three yummy tart candles, Home Sweet Home, Lilac and Hydrangea! Oh it there were flower stickers in this package!  Last of all there was a note attached to a package that said open this last.  She states its a little extra gift because she had heard I had been a bit down.  In this package was a bottle of bubbles from her wedding.  She states she uses them when she's feeling down and they make her smile!   With the bubbles was a resin Cherished Teddy named Paula.  She is a nurse bear in scrubs and it says Helping others is the best part of my job.  This piece is soooooooo cute.  I'm going to take it to work and put it with my little bear display in my office!  I felt like Queen for the Day, no actually I believe its Queen for at least a month.

Joanie, this package was above and beyond and I'm still smiling like crazy!  Thank you, thank you, thank you from the tip of my head to the very ends of my chubby toes!!!
Beary big hugs, Michelle

Debi's Swap Report

Oh swaps are such fun!!!!!!! My swappie this time was Annette, and yes I
got spoiled! She sent a postcard from Mobile Bay and a  wonderful letter
about her and her family, pictures of her two beautiful little girls and
part of her collection of Boyds.  She explained about Mardi Gras in
Mobile and sent some beads, and a beautiful picture of azaleas. A
bluebird of happiness pin, a magnet that says "If you want breakfast in
bed, sleep in the kitchen" (that holds true here), an Easter egg filled
with M&M's, Ty Beanie "Wallace" and Boyd's Dinkle B. Bumbles he fits
right in and I didn't have him yet. Her favorite football team is the
Crimson Tide so she sent me a lucky elephant, their mascot. Maybe it
will bring me some luck too! I must say my favorite things were a pair
of hand painted sunflower socks ( I've had 2 people try to steal them
right off me!) and a sunflower picture frame....seems we both love
sunflowers!! And lastly being a southern girl she sent me one of her
favorite books "The Seven Signs of Southerness" it is quotes by famous
southerners. I found a favorite right off "Hot heads and cold hearts
never solved anything" by Rev. Billy Graham.

Annette I will treasure these gifts given from your heart. I am glad you have found your way to the wonderful group of "WOWSIES."

Linda's Swap Report

When I received my swap box, there was no name on the outside, so I was
left to guess who it was until I opened my swap, which I could not do
until later in the day because I wanted to open it in chat.  However, I
did cut through the tape so it would make it easier later on (yeah
right).  (Also so I could peek).  I saw the letter on top so I kinda,
sorta, managed to get that out without seeing anything inside.  My
swappie was Michelle S.---Don Michelle.  Now all I had to do was wait
for chat.

Finally, chat arrived.  I had sorta  hinted around about a
tote one night in chat (LOL), well guess what the first item in my
package turned out to be---Yep, it was my tote and I was so very
excited.  Eddie Bearamerican, I just love it.  I took my tote to
Frankenmuth with me when we met last Saturday.  The tote would have been plenty, but inside wrapped with the most beautiful butterfly paper were a bunch of other items.  Michelle sent me a key chain with a bear that says hugs (my keys are now attached to that chain), a wind chime which I put up in my kitchen (too nice for outside), Yankee candles in my
favorite scents, a Boyds bunny (I can never remember their names, but
she has a green and white checked outfit and is new for spring, a Thomas
Kincaid magnet for my fridge, a nurse Boyds mug (now my favorite),
Michelle is a nurse and I work for a physician.  There was also candy
which is long gone and I am not telling where it went since I am on a
diet (hahaha).  Michelle was so generous and I loved everything so much.
I am glad to have been her swap partner, but was even more thrilled to
meet her at Frankenmuth.  I hope at some time in the future we will be
able to get together again.

Thank-you so much Michelle!!!
Hugs, Linda

Mary Liz's Swap Report

Girls, important news follows that I have uncovered. The reason that we don't hear from Storm very often is -------the girl is either not in the country or her state. Good grief, included in her swap report was  a copy of her Christmas letter. Last year alone, Storm was in Italy making pizza, Rosemont, Gettysburg, Sicily, Disney World, Natchez, Mississippi, New Orleans, Texas and Washington D.C. She teaches school full time and has a part time job at a Boyds store. Her swap gift was very representative of her way of life. Included were chocolate bars and a tablet saying Chocolate is the Answer, who cares what the question is! Her home is decorated in Americana and she sent a wooden Uncle Sam all in red white and blue. She likes cats and has 3, so she included a bookmark with a pot of flowers at the top with a cat curled up in it.. She really likes fresh flowers so she sent a little book called Flowers for a friend. Guess we know she likes Bears so she included a bear magnet, and bear hand towel. Her favorite saying is "Hands to Work, Hearts to God" so she included a tin hand with a heart punched out on it. And finally from her love of travel she included a gold  historical ornament from Cape May, New Jersey. All the goodies were tucked inside a drawstring  pouch.

Thanks tons Storm, I really feel like I know you alot better.
Hugs,
Maryliz
